Happy Chinese New Year!

Today – February 16, 2018, a new Chinese New Year starts.

It is the year of the dog. It’s representative for people born in 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, and 2006, since the Chinese people believe that the year of your birth, and the animal this represents, determines a lot about your personality.

Wear red today to have good fortune, especially if the dog year is your birth year.

A typical Chinese New Year celebration lasts 15 days. Cities and towns schedule different activities for each day that are aimed at bringing people luck and prosperity in every aspect of life. On the last day (day 15) people usually celebrate it by solving riddles that are written on paper lanterns, eating yuanxiao, and releasing lanterns into the sky.

Regardless if you believe in this or if you are or not a Chinese, I wish you all – Gong xi fa cai!(joy and prosperity in the new year)
